The Bodhi Parva Quiz is essentially a general knowledge quiz where contestants may expect questions on Buddhism and Tourism in the BIMSTEC countries. Some of the topics that may feature are as follows:

Covering the seven BIMSTEC countries – India, Bangladesh, Myanmar, Thailand, Sri Lanka, Nepal and Bhutan

3) General Knowledge

Literally, anything under the realm of general knowledge may feature in the quiz! These could be Current Affairs, Pop Culture, Movies and Music, Sports and Sports Stars, Land and People, Literature, History, Science and Technology, Well Known Personalities, Miscellaneous Topics.


Today, more than ever, the young are drawn to the Buddhist way of life to address modern challenges such as digital invasion, unexplained changes, and conflicts. With this increasing curiosity, it is time, to look at the different aspects of Buddhism. ‘’Bodhi Parva: BIMSTEC Buddhist Heritage Festival” focuses to do so, in today’s context. The Festival aims to raise awareness of Buddhist philosophies amongst the youth, taking off from the legacy of the seven BIMSTEC countries (Bangladesh, India, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Bhutan & Nepal) that are bound by a shared history of social, cultural and religious beliefs influenced by Buddhism. With this objective in mind, a BIMSTEC online Quiz on “Buddhism and the BIMSTEC countries” will be organised.

The Quiz Finale, on the last day of the Festival - 10th December, will be hosted by the very popular television producer, director and quiz show host Siddharth Basu.

Guidelines for the competition

  • The Festival will conduct an online quiz which will culminate in a Grand Finale at IGNCA (Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts) in New Delhi on 10 December 2017.
  • All schools from India are welcome to participate. Standards 9 to 12, in the academic year 2017-18 are eligible to participate.
  • The Quiz will have 2 preliminary rounds followed by the Grand Finale.
  • The 1st preliminary round will be conducted online on 3rd December. The 2nd preliminary round will be conducted at the venue on 10th December followed by the Finale hosted by Quiz Master Siddharth Basu.
  • All teams short listed to participate in the 2nd preliminary round will be given certificates. The Finale teams will receive consolation prizes. The winning team will be awarded attractive prizes! The prizes cannot be exchanged in lieu of cash.
  • The Quiz will focus on the theme of Buddhism and the BIMSTEC countries (Bangladesh, India, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Bhutan & Nepal).
  • Each team will consist of 2 members and will represent their School.
  • Teams must provide written approval from their school principal regarding their being permitted and authorized to represent the school.
  • The Quiz will be conducted in English. Both team members should be fluent and comfortable in written as well as spoken English.
  • Participants must be residents of India (foreign citizens resident in India may also apply).
  • The decision on the winners is final and binding.
  • The organisers reserve the right to modify these terms & conditions.
