About the festival

Buddhism has taken root in the consciousness of people across the world. With increasing curiosity - especially among the young - it is time, to look at the different aspects of Buddhism. ‘’Bodhi Parva: BIMSTEC Festival of Buddhist Heritage” aims to do so, in today’s context.

BIMSTEC is an international organisation comprising of India, Bangladesh, Myanmar, Thailand, Sri Lanka, Nepal and Bhutan. The geographical contiguity of BIMSTEC implies common social, cultural and religious linkages. BIMSTEC is a conscious effort to revitalise relations among these countries.

Food

Food is both a material fact and a cultural symbol. It connects us to the earth, our families and culture and foreign cultures too.

At the Bodhi Parva: BIMSTEC Festival of Buddhist Heritage, food from seven BIMSTEC countries will open a gastronomical window to South and South-East Asian cuisines. How geographical contiguity and shared cultural and religious heritage has led to common food habits will be evident at the food trail curated by a practicing culinary expert, Sudha Kukreja.
